Dom DiMaggio longtime Red Sox and brother of Joe DiMaggio left us on May 8. Nicknamed the "Little Professor," Dom never was able to reach his brother hitting streak, maxing out at 27.
The Tigers would win that night 1-0 in a game featuring Verlander at his best and the play of the year by Granderson. "IT'S GONE. no it's not." Still gets me.
